My work is very seasonal - Summer brings workshops and community engagement that focus on using outdoor space. I am gardening and processing dye plants as much as I'm stitching or working with textiles. This gives me a strong connection to what is going on outside, but a rainy day earlier this week meant that I had the perfect excuse to sit inside and stitch.

A couple of hours sitting quietly using simple stitches is always restorative for me. It is a way of gathering my thoughts and embedding some of my thinking - about work but other things too. I'd be interested to hear if you experience this in the making that you do - textile-based or in using any other craft process. Share your thoughts in the comments if you like.
